Looks like you need to have a big rota tiller ready a chainsaw and a tin roof. A swimming pool would be good if you can afford the water to keep it full.
I also have a pool. Is there an inexpensive water filter system to turn a pool into drinking water? Or maybe a big pump to use it to soak your house and property in case the city water fails?

Right. We have a pool. Maintenance is a pain but I like having a water reserve handy.

As I understand, properly chlorinated pool water should be safe to drink. You can also use household bleach to purify it. Here's info from CDC: https://www.cdc.gov/healthywater/emergency/making-water-safe.html
As for the roof, I've thought of trying to rig soaker hoses up there. Haven't done it yet, though.
